Fore Kids Golf Classic Big Success
Friday, August 12, 2011
PORTSMOUTH - The Child Advocacy Center annual Fore Kids Golf Classic was held at the premiere Golf Club of New England in Stratham, NH, on June 6. With beautiful weather and a 7,500-plus yard Arnold Palmer designed course, the day was a success from every vantage point, raising over $33,000 to support child victims of sexual abuse.
The day's success was much in part due to the generous contributions made by the events major sponsors: The Benson Family Charitable Trust, and the Little Harbor Foundation - Holloway Family. Additional sponsors included: Live Free or Die Alliance, Ocean Properties, Friends of the CAC - David & Karen Della Penta, and Zach & Nancy Slater, The Anagnost Companies, Bio-Spray, CM Ragusa Builders, Exeter Area New Car Dealers Association, Federal Cigars, First Colebrook Bank, Kennebunk Savings Bank, Parkland Medical Center, Portsmouth Regional Hospital, Proulx Oil & Propane, Seacoast Asset Management, and Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside Hotel.
The Child Advocacy Center would like to thank all the golfers who played and their recognition that child sexual abuse is an issue within our community. Currently, 1 in 5 children will become a victim of sexual abuse before the age of 18. With offices in Portsmouth and Derry, the center has provided assistance to over 4,000 physically and sexually abused children and their families.
